HOW CAN I SERVE?

"Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of  others". Philippians 2:3-4 "

Jesus said "If anyone wishes to be first, he must be last of all and servant of all" (Mark 9:35). One of our major goals at Northwest is to look for ways to stir up love and good works within our church through acts of serving others (Hebrews 10:24). Our desire is to reflect the image of Christ more and more each day, by humbly serving others and by creating an atmosphere where acts of service are the norm, not the exception (Philippians 2:5-11).

Here are some ways you can love and serve the church:

  • Commit to spiritual revitalization daily through Bible study and prayer
  • Commit to personal evangelism
  • Invite others
  • Welcome guests
  • Attend Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services
  • Have a humble attitude
  • Attend our Bible Fellowship Groups (Sunday school)
  • Be encouraging
  • Pray for and with other members and the leaders
  • Support our leaders
  • Visit other members in the hospital
  • Call members who are sick, struggling, or celebrating an accomplishment
  • Give of your time, your services, and your possessions to those in need
  • Lend a helping hand to one another
  • Be a mentor
  • Help others overcome sin
  • Be eager to reconcile with other members in a spirit of forgiveness
  • Help others discover their spiritual gifts
  • Serve in one of our ministries
  • Make church about others
  • Strive for unity
  • Train your family to love the church
  • Treasure church membership as a gift

This list is not exhaustive. Therefore, we encourage everyone to consider other ways where you can stir up love and good works in our church (Hebrews 10:24).

We can't wait to hear from you
